Welcome to WRARA . Whitehorse Ratepayers and Residents Association Inc has been operating for a number of years and its purpose is to support the ratepayers and residents of Whitehorse in any matters affecting them.
This may involve local government, state government and federal government, depending on the issue.
It is our mission to monitor council expenditure and ensure that ratepayers get value foe money and that all residents have a voice in matters that concern them. We hold monthly meetings which are either via zoom or in person depending on restrictions. If you would like to attend our meetings or have any matter considered by the organisation please contact the President on 0419135619.

Current issues under consideration are: 1. Removal of the railway crossings at Surrey Hills and Mont Albert stations and replacement of both Surrey Hills and Mont Albert station with one super station. Encroaching on a 100 year old local park and associated destruction of hundreds of significant trees and loss of amenity in local streets.
2. The Suburban Rail Loop which involves acquisition of a number of properties, tunnelling under others and environmental concerns.
3. Issues relating to the replacement of the Whitehorse Centre which will be the costliest project ever for the City of Whitehorse.
4. Open space policy and amenities for pets.
5. State and local government planning issues including rampant overdevelopment and associated destruction of trees.
